    #9439 by Alvin Eckert, USCS #9964.
    Cover is franked with a 44 cent Liberty stamp, and 3 cent Iwo Jima USMC stamp #929.
    Cover prepared on an Archive Quality Envelope without gum on flap.

    The Corsair aircraft was one of the carrier-based fighters in the Pacific during WW II.
    This fighter, like the Hellcat, and Wildcat was able to able to outperform the 331 mph,
    more nimble Zero. The Corsair also saw extensive service in the Korean War.
